“… we’ve seen so much happen Apple, as well as Samsung, when it comes to the Android operating system…
You do know that Google is the company innovating Android software, not Samsung, right? I guess the Samsung vs Apple lawsuits that the press loved to write about really did help Samsung in the long run.
I enjoyed your review up until then.
It sure would have been nice to have our so called Canadian company launch the product in Canada. Instead, their press event was in New York. The UK gets the phones tomorrow, while we wait a week. Manufacturing has been all but moved out of Canada long ago. I used to be BB’s biggest booster, but now I see they have turned their back on Canada. They have however been able to produce a reasonable product. Unfortunately, the competition likely has better phones ready for production while RIM/Blackberry will likely take another three years to come up with thier next big thing. Too little. Too late. I remember when RIM meant something. Now it’s just a punchline. Sad.
Hey Ryan,
Yes, I know Google is behind the Android operating system…was just mentioning Samsung as one of the big players in this space.
Thanks for watching!
Amber
RIM doesn’t control when the carriers launch phones. UK carriers had their stuff together, US did not. CDN somewhere between.
P – of course RIM controls the launch date. This right is in the supplier agreement, defined quite clearly. They control it right down to the date and time of release. They had a choice and they chose not to release in Canada first. Period.
Amber, any thoughts on this one?
Rob,
Blackberry, RIP RIM, does control it… but the carriers need to be on the ball as well. US fell short on that one.
Also the UK’s pretty much Blackberry’s biggest fanboy/userbase. So UK got it first.
Your review was superb, Amber. So glad to see that RIM has been true to their original fan base as well as come into the new age of smarter smart phones. Great job as always.
Great review. I have just ordered my Z10. Hopefully this is the comeback for Blackberry. Buy Canadian.
Amber, your review of the BlackBerry Z10 is fair and balanced. I love my BlackBerry Z10; this coming from a die-hard physical keyboard BlackBerry smartphone user.
