The Miniature Earth on YouTube
This video mash-up has been around for a while, but my friend just added it to his Facebook profile so I had to share it here. This is why I love the Internet. There is no other medium that could/would showcase such a compelling collection of moving images and music in such a, well, shareable way (original can be found here). On a semi-related note, I'm not even sure that music channels play music videos anymore; they're too busy re-running episodes of The Hills or The O.C.

If you get up real early you can catch music video's on vh1 for an hour or so on Sunday mornings.

I agree with you on music channels. It seems it me that MuchMusic was a part of my life as a teen now when I flip by I hardly ever see a video (and when I do they are infiltrated by scrolling text messages)! We need a new generational song about who killed the Video Star!

Music Channels play less actual music video's now days due to all the fee's that they have to now pay to the artist and labels. Guess the artist are just making up for all the money they lose out on due to their albums being bittorrented. All that annoying scrolling text is an attempt to stop people from capture the video on their computers and uploading it to YouTube. Great video Amber, and thanks for the link to miniature-earth.com

Amber, thanks for that video. I don't usually watch videos like that straight through, but this had something to it. As a side note, Jay Lewin has a great idea! I have actually always wanted to record a song with people I have never met or seen and record all our parts in our own locations and then have one person (after gathering all the parts via e-mail or file sharing) put them all together to form the song. Hmm..... maybe a little plug on N@N too!

I remember seeing this a while back and I sent it to so many ppl I know. YouTube video doesn't do it justice. The photos are much more powerful when you see it in it's full resolution. But thanks for sharing!

They need to put more "about us" information on their website! I want to know who's behind this. Psh, TV channels? Who waits around for music videos to show on TV when you can just look it up on The Internet?

I gave up on watching music videos on t.v. anymore. Youtube or other online streaming sites is what I use to watch music videos now. The internet is wonderful for this kind of stuff. Thanks for the video Amber.
