I have more than a decade of experience hosting television and appearing as a technology expert on G4TechTV, CBC, CTV, CNN, CityTV, ABC, and Fast Company.

Branded Content

Strategic, engaging multimedia content is the key to success online. I can help you produce quality content and a motivated community around it, building your reputation and your business.

I have written for publications such as Fast Company, Open Forum, Yahoo!, Today’s Parent, and The Globe & Mail. If you’re looking for someone to write about digital productivity, digital lifestyle, or social media marketing, let me know.

Social Media

Thanks to my exposure in the Bay Area to all things digital in the late 1990s, I’ve been playing around with every online tool imaginable (#EarlyAdopter). After publishing my book, Canadian Business named me “Canada’s Top Social Media Expert on How to Build a Brand.”

ABOUT ME

I am an entrepreneur, bestselling author, well-known blogger, keynote speaker, and TV host. I started my career during the dot-com boom in San Francisco and have since been at the forefront of reporting on and participating in digital innovation. See my demo reel.

razorfish

When I arrived in San Francisco during the dot-com boom, I landed a job at web agency Razorfish. I worked with some of the smartest teams online to develop information architecture and content for some of the world's leading brands. Oh, and this is when I met and fell in love with ICQ.

Microsoft

After four years working in the United States, I returned to Canada to help Microsoft Canada launch a female-friendly lifestyle portal called Microsoft Home Magazine. This project triggered my desire to encourage women to join the tech world.

G4TechTV

With a borrowed handicam and my shiny new iMac, I made a demo reel for Leo Laporte's technology program Call for Help. The producers asked me to join as a regular web expert, reviewing viewers' websites. Within three months, I was co-hosting alongside Leo and my good friend Andy Walker.

CityTV

When one of Toronto's top TV stations came knocking, I popped in for an interview with the big man on campus. When I told him that I had never watched the nightly news (since I got all my news online), and didn't know his main anchor, he laughed and declared, "You're hired!" I was the country's first new media reporter, covering technology news and trends.

Konnekt

After leaving Citytv, I wanted to get more hands-on with my work in the digital space. Originally called MGImedia, I co-founded Konnekt Digital Engagement in 2007. With our fantastic team, I have had the pleasure of working with clients including Adobe, Canada Goose, Ford, Xbox, and many more.

Tony Robbins

When one of his partners called to ask me to advise Tony and his team on social media strategy, my brother and I quickly jumped at the opportunity. I left the daily news world and we started our digital marketing agency, Konnekt.

Power Friending

The day after I submitted my book proposal, my son was born (who is now a pre-schooler). A couple of months later I received an offer from Portfolio in New York City, Penguin's business arm. Power Friending was published in 2010 and quickly became a Globe & Mail bestseller. It also helped me to achieve the Canadian Business title of, "Canada's top social media expert on how to build a brand.
